Scribe-ly Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 26, 2026

This policy covers the Scribe-ly iOS app, published by NMS App Works LLC (“we,” “us”). It sits alongside our company privacy policy; where the two differ for Scribe-ly, this page controls.

The short version

Scribe-ly has no accounts and no servers. Recording, transcription, speaker separation, summarization, and voice matching all run on your device. Your recordings, transcripts, and voice samples are files on your iPhone. We never receive them, and we collect no analytics, advertising identifiers, or crash telemetry.

What Scribe-ly stores, and where

All of the following is written to the app's own storage on your device:

Recordings and transcripts live in the app's Documents folder, which is visible to you in the iOS Files app so you can copy your own data out whenever you want. Private projects are stored separately and gated behind Face ID.

We have no ability to read any of it. There is no account to sign into and no backend to hold a copy.

Voice samples and voiceprints

If you use Voice ID, Scribe-ly derives a voiceprint from a voice sample — a numeric signature of how someone sounds — and stores it with that speaker so it can label them in later transcripts. This is biometric information, and some jurisdictions regulate it specifically.

Permissions the app asks for

Each is optional and can be revoked in iOS Settings; the related feature simply stops working.

AI features

Transcripts are recognized speech produced by an on-device speech model. Summaries and AI language fixes are generated by Apple Intelligence's on-device language model. Your audio and transcript text are not sent to us or to any AI service over the network for these features.

AI output can be wrong. Verify anything that matters against the original audio.

When Scribe-ly uses the network

Scribe-ly works offline. It reaches the network in only two situations:

What we receive

Nothing automatic. We receive information only if you email us for support, in which case we have your email address and whatever you include in the message. If you attach a recording or transcript to a support email, you are sending us that content deliberately; we use it only to resolve your issue and delete it when the issue is closed.

Apple provides us with aggregated, non-identifying sales and download reports through App Store Connect. We cannot identify individuals from them.

No tracking, no selling

Scribe-ly contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party trackers. Its App Store privacy manifest declares no tracking, no tracking domains, and no collected data types. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Backups

If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, that backup includes Scribe-ly's data, under your Apple Account and your control. Scribe-ly can also export your data to an archive file, which then goes wherever you choose to put it. We are not involved in either case.

Deleting your data

Children

Scribe-ly is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal information a company holds about you, and to withdraw consent for biometric processing (including under the GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA, and state biometric privacy laws). Because Scribe-ly keeps everything on your device, you already have direct access and deletion for all of it. For anything else, email contact@nmsappworks.com.

Changes

If this policy changes we will revise the “Last updated” date above and note material changes on this page.
